2007- “FOC network in soums”
The project connected 33 soums of 18 aimags through FOCs and there were rolled out 1556 km long FOC network and installed STM-1 transmission links with a speed capacity of 155 Mbps. Operation of the network allows provisioning of mobile and internet services, broadcasting and other ICT services to individuals, public and private businesses in soums.
2008- continuation of “FOC networks in soums”
The project connected 28 soums of 15 aimags, there was established 860 km long FOC cable and was installed STM-1 transmission facilities. The network provides technical availabilities of mobile and internet services, broadcasting and other ICT services to individuals, public and private businesses in those soums.
2009 – “Establishment of back-up networks of the backbone network”
In a total, there was established a 1800 km long FOC network and installed STM-4 transmission facility with a speed capacity of 2,5 Gbps in 15 soums of 7 aimags in order to set up a ring network to increase a capacity and reliability of the backbone network. As a result of the project, the reliability was enhanced by 2 times by establishing a ring structure of the network connecting Ulaanbaatar – Undurkhaan-Baruun-Urt-Sainshand-Dalanzadgad- Bayangol-Dashinchilen-Ulaanbaatar. The capacity of the backbone network was increased by 4 times in the central ring network.
2011 – Supply and installation of DWDM network facilities
The project aimed to establish an internet international gateway by installing the high-speed broadband DWDM equipment with iCNC’s own investment. Installation of the high-speed DWDM with a capacity of 10 GBps through the FOC connected between Ulaanbaatar and Zamiin Uud created technical capability to import internet wholesale traffic.
2011-2013 – “ Renovation and expansion of the information and communications backbone network”
The project connected 150 soums of 19 aimags through FOCs network with a soft loan investment of the Government of China. Implementation of the project rolled out 9 000 km long FOC network connecting soums to provide telecommunications services. In 2012, 30 soums of 4 aimags were connected with FOCs. Ground installation works have been completed and acceptance for operation is undergoing.
